Norman, OK - Willena Denoa Smith passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Norman, OK at the age of 93.
She was born July 7, 1932, near Pruitt, Arkansas to William John and Alpha Loweta (Pruitt) Skaggs. She moved to Ada as a young girl and graduated from Ada High School in 1950.
On July 16, 1950, she married her sweetheart, Billy Ray "Bill" Smith. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2016.
After being a full-time wife and mother for many years, she went to work alongside her husband at Dillon's Department Store and worked there until they both retired in 1990. They were also longtime members of Asbury United Methodist Church. They both loved traveling the country on vacations and playing bluegrass music in the Smith Family Band.
Survivors include daughter, Jan Kirkes and husband Gus of Norman, and brother, John H. Skaggs and wife Marilyn of Springfield, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
