Stephen Christopher McClure
Stephen Christopher McClure, 33, of Oswego, Kansas, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019.
He was born Oct. 1, 1985, in West Monroe, Louisiana. He attended elementary school in Ada and graduated from North East High School in Arma, Kansas.
He and Nicole Farris were married Aug. 27, 2006, in Oswego. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California.
He served in the Marine Corps Infantry 0311, was assigned to the 2/4 Fox Company and was deployed under Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he moved to Oswego in 2008.
He later enlisted in the Air Force Reserve, where he served in the 931st Civil Engineering Division and became certified in HVAC.
Stephen was deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserves in July of 2018.
Survivors include his wife, Nicole McClure of Oswego, Kansas; children, Wyatt, Garrett and Austynn McClure; mother, Renata McClure of Livingston, Texas; sisters Amanda Thompson of Roff, Caitlyn McClure of Oswego, Mallory Schutte of Roff and Gillian Thys of Livingston, Texas; grandmother, Jerri Ritter and her husband, Tex; and grandfather, Buddy McClure of Livingston.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, Kansas. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Semper Fi Fund.
