Services for Roy Keith Long Sr., 87, of Ada are at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Southwest Church of Christ. Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Long passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at a local hospital.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, at Watonga to James Long and Effie Marie Uhrig Long. He graduated from Watonga High School.
He married Carol Ann White on April 26, 1952, in Shawnee. She preceded him in death Feb. 26, 2002.
Mr. Long was an electrician for OG&E until his retirement. He was also the owner/operator of the Tastee Freez in Ada and the Arlington Drive-In.
He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and had served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot.
Survivors include a daughter, Susie Jiru, Ada; son, Jack Long and wife, Laura, Ada; three grandchildren, Christina Long, Joe Long and Angie Long, all of Ada; a brother, Gary Long and wife, Sandy, Yukon; sister, Carolyn Newberry and husband, Dal, Oklahoma City; and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Ann; a son, Roy Keith Long Jr.; two brothers, Wesley Long and Jim Long; and a sister, Maryann Pearson.
Bearers will be Jack Long, Leonard Preble, Bart Conley, Joe Long, Kyle Wilson and Butch Platt. Honorary bearers will be Todd Martin and Greg Chilcoat.
