Stratford, OK - Phillip Marlin Skillern, age 63, passed away on March 15, 2026.

He was born on October 18, 1962, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in Warren County. He carried the values he learned there throughout his life, especially a strong work ethic, a deep loyalty to family, and a steady, dependable nature that people could count on.

He spent his career as a homebuilder, taking pride in his work and the homes he created. He was known for being hardworking, consistent, and committed to doing things well. He built with care and took pride in a job done right.

Outside of work, he enjoyed collecting arrowheads and spending time outdoors. He also loved animals and had a natural way with them, whether it was dogs, cats, cattle, or horses. He was the kind of person animals trusted, and he always made sure they were cared for.

He loved to laugh and could find humor in just about anything. He was a storyteller, someone who enjoyed sharing memories, talking things through, and keeping people smiling. He also loved "eating like a king" and appreciated the simple pleasure of a good meal shared with family and friends.

He maintained deep connections with the people he loved. He made a point to reach out, make a phone call, and catch up. He stayed close to family and was often the first to step up when someone needed help, support, or care. He showed his love through consistency, presence, and action.

He is survived by his daughter, Whitley Morlino, and her husband, Derrick Morlino. He was a proud grandfather to his two grandsons, Orion Morlino and Leander Morlino. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, along with his nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He will be remembered for his humor, his dependability, his love for family, and the way he showed up for the people and animals around him.

A memorial service will be held on April 12 at 1:00 PM at 10219 US-177, Stratford, Oklahoma 74872, with a reception to follow.
