Mattie Belle Miller, 97, was born July 9, 1919, in Vanoss to Clint and Nettie (Palmer) Childers. She lost her longtime battle with Alzheimer's Dec. 14, 2016 in Del City.
She grew up in the Vanoss area and graduated high school. She married Lonnie Miller in 1938 in Vanoss. She worked for many years as a cook at the Vanoss School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie, on April 28, 1997; two children, George and Patsy; her sisters, Alpha Cartwright, Alene Miller, Geneva McCullar and an identical twin, Hattie Davis; and her brothers, Roy and C.E. Childers.
She is survived by her son, Alfred Miller and his wife, Diane, of Ada; two daughters, Glenda Kelley and her husband, Ronald, of Del City, Freda Rivers and her husband, Larry, of Midwest City; one brother, Kenneth Childers of Mustang; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Miller, Ronnie Miller, Ronald Kelley, Larry Rivers, Earl Davis and Joe Ginn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at the DeArman-Pickard Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jack Terrell-Wilkes will officiate. Burial will follow in Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
