It is with heavy heart that I have learned of the loss of Marie. I was one of the Fitzhugh/Baptist Church girls who had the profound privilege to have had Marie as my teacher and friend growing up. She was a valuable mentor, constant inspiration and encouragement to so many of us through the years. She was always available to visit with us at all times. She and Leonard were such a wonderful example of what a marriage should be between two people who loved one another. I have not had the opportunity to see her a lot through the years but was always delighted anytime I had the privilege to see her and get one of her great hugs. I shall miss her but blessed to know that Heaven is a better... place and she is enjoying being with our wonderful Lord and Savior. My sincere love and sympathy to Leonard and all of the family.Read more
