Roff, OK - Lyle Gordon Hedges, 77, of Roff, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at his home. He was born October 3, 1948, in Perry, OK, to Gordon and Nora Hedges.
Over the years Lyle held many titles. He was a Warrant Officer in the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a Huey helicopter pilot, earning a Purple Heart. Lyle was a pilot and loved planes. He spent time as a truck driver, he was a skilled carpenter, he served for several years as the mayor of Roff, and he worked as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 2015.
Lyle was a wonderful husband, loving father, and proud grandpa. Lyle and his wife Karon shared a life together since December 1990. Lyle's family and friends are grateful for a lifetime of laughter and cherished memories with him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Ellsworth Hedges, his mother, Nora Magnolia Rutherford Hedges, and his good dog, Ivy.
He is survived by his wife, Karon Hedges, of the home; daughters, Sarah Stafford and husband Russell, of Oklahoma City and Karly Scott and husband Ryan, of Ada; grandson, Will Stafford; brother, David Hedges and wife Linda; sisters, Ellen Kizzar and husband Ken, Nora Muzingo and husband Larry, Donna Williams and husband Jerry, and Cathy Crow and husband David; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private celebration of life for Lyle's family will be scheduled at a later date.
