John W. (Pod) Law of Gaar Corner was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Chism, Oklahoma to John Wesley Law and Elma Pearl (Cravatt) Law.
He passed away in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 97 years 10 months, and 10 days.
He attended school at Galey, Parish Chapel, and Vanoss High School. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the 29th Engineers in the South Pacific. He married Aleta Mae Wells on July 12, 1941, in Konawa, Oklahoma. He was Superintendent with the Department of Transportation for 17 years, retiring in 1985.
Preceded by his parents, his wife Aleta in 1997, son; John Winfield Law JR., 2 brothers; and 1 sister. Survived by 3 grandchildren, Robin Carol Law, Gaar Corner, Eddie Dale Law Norman, OK. and John Winfield Law III (Trey) of Gaar Corner; Brother Max Law also of Gaar Corner. 5 great-grandchildren; Josh Clark, Sam, Molly, Wesley, and Maddie Law.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at DeArman/Pickard Funeral Home Stratford, Oklahoma from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, in DeArman/Pickard Chapel Stratford, Oklahoma. Officiating; Rev. Earl Hood. Burial will be in McGee cemetery Stratford, Oklahoma.
