Mr. Joe Summers
November 15, 1935 - April 15, 2025
Joe Summers, 89, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, and man of faith, Joe lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and love.
Born November 15, 1935, to Everett and Gertie Summers, Joe graduated from Vanoss High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964, achieving the rank of Sergeant and Specialist 5 Sniper and later served in the Army Reserves. He worked 24 years for the Oklahoma Highway Department and dedicated over 40 years as Deacon and Treasurer at Community Free Will Baptist Church.
A gifted craftsman, Joe loved working in his shop and sharing his skills with others. He cherished his wife of 65 years, Roberta Summers, and was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Bolin, and brothers, Gene and Mack Summers. He is survived by his wife Roberta; daughter Audrey Newport and husband Bob of Stonewall; son-in-law Frankie Bolin of Ada; grandchildren Brandon and Derek Bolin, Lindsay Estes, Lacey Butner, Taylor Newport and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
The family sincerely thanks the Featherstone Assisted Living staff for their dedicated care of Joe.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place Monday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at Free Will Baptist Church of Ada, with Pastor Derek Bolin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Bolin, Bob Newport, Brandon Bolin, Derek Bolin, Gaylon Summers and Garland Summers. Honorary Pallbearers are Taylor Newport, Brett Butner, Ryan Estes, Gene Maddox, and Dennis McDaniel.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
