James Harris passed away May 13, 2021, at the age of 80 years in Coalgate, Oklahoma. He was born May 17, 1940, in Talihina, Oklahoma to his parents Osborne Reason and Nancy (Roberts) Harris.

James resided in Tupelo, Oklahoma. He married Dorothy Jane Greenwood July 19, 1973, in Durant, Oklahoma. James served in the Air Force and National Guard for 12 years. During his Air Force service, he was stationed in Vietnam. He was a member of the District 12 Choctaw Seniors. James enjoyed watching the Thunder and OU teams. He liked watching western movies. His greatest love was watching his great-grandchildren play ball.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Monette Richardson, Ramona Chapman, and Kimberlie Chapman, 1 son Devon Chapman, nieces and nephews, 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 daughters: Sarah Mashunkashey, Sandra Gastineau, and Neeahtha Chapman, 2 sons: Al Chapman and Jimmy Lee Chapman, 3 brothers: David Harris, Reason Harris, and Leon Harris, 2 sisters: Mary Harris Heck and Jessie Lynch: niece Shirley Morgan and husband Tommy.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, May 17, 2021, at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Larry Hawkins and Randy Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Round Lake Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021, from 3-5 PM at the Funeral Home.
