Ada, Oklahoma - James C. "Jim" Haley, 81, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away on May 17, 2025. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and dedicated 29 years to the Ada Fire Department as a professional firefighter. Jim was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, a proud great-grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend to many.
Jim married the love of his life, Peggy Clark, on August 7, 1965. He is survived by his wife Peggy Clark-Haley; children Jack Wayne Haley (wife Stacey) and Anna "Sam" Haley-Dooley (husband Frank); grandchildren Chaise Haley (wife Cassie), Taylor Davis (husband Harlan), Elizabeth Canaday (fiancé Colby Civick), Kali Dooley; and great-grandchildren Ava, Kaiden, Mabrey, and Ripley. He is also survived by siblings Joe (wife Doris), Kirby (wife Mary Sue), and Kay Lynne Haley, and preceded in death by parents T.H. "T-Bone" and Zelma Haley, and siblings Jack Haley and Carter Williams.
Jim was the proud patriarch of the Haley family. He loved spending time outdoors, ranching, gardening (especially his prized onions), or simply being surrounded by family. A true patriot, Jim was rarely seen without his overalls and a display of American pride, with the flag waving proudly nearby. Known for his humor, honesty, and heart, Jim will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Valley Baptist Church, officiated by Randall Christy. Jim will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma.
