Eugene Steele Bush

Eugene Steele Bush, age 78 and a former resident of Seminole County in Oklahoma, passed away at Ada Care Center in Ada.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, OSB, will officiate, and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Eugene was born Dec. 2, 1939, in Hamilton, Mississippi, to James Eugene Bush and Myrtle Ophelia (Bowen) Bush. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1959.

He married Annie V. Davis on March 8, 1963, in Arkansas.

Eugene worked as a mechanic for Chevron Oil Co., and he loved fishing at Konawa Lake with his friends and taking deep sea fishing trips.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annie Bush of Ada; one son, Ronald Bush of New Jersey; two daughters, Juanita Barton of Ada and Beverly Capehart of Oregon; one brother, Michael Bush of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren, Anthony Rodriquez, Brianna Bush and Jeremy Capehart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Bush; two brothers, Emmitt Bush and James Bush; and two sisters, Evelyn and Elizabeth.
