Sulphur, OK - Erma Jean Pursley, of Sulphur, Oklahoma was born on April 22, 1935 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Jesse James Black and Mary Ellen Selby Black. She passed from this life on March 23, 2026. She attended school in Tishomingo and became an ordained minister. Erma was married to Frank for 60 years.
Erma loved puzzles, painting, drawing, and especially studying the Bible. She will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, and nine siblings.
Erma is survived by her children: Lola Kaye Lamkin (Will) of Colorado Springs, CO, Gloria Diane Rosato (Mike) of Magadore, OH, Naomi McEachran ( Robert) of Sulphur, Oklahoma, and Jamie Sue Waugh (Rick) of Waco, TX. She had 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings: Eddie Black of Tishomingo, Jerry Black of Tishomingo, Sharon Moore of Ada, and Jesse Black. She had many other relatives and friends that will miss her.
Services will be April 2, 2026, 11:00 am at Faith Center Church in Sulphur, OK, officiated by Pastor Manny Cantu. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn.
