Donald Leonard Franklin (Don) Obituary

Don was raised in the vicinity of York, Nebraska and areas within Wyoming. He served a Tour of Duty in the United States Navy and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He travelled during and after his service to different states and points of interest. Some of those places include Texas, California, Utah among others, then in October 1981 he and his family came to make their home near Ada, Oklahoma.


He was married to Donna (Foltz) Pettit in Lander, Wyoming on April 17, 1979. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at North Hills Center from 1989 to 2020. Don was a faithful member of the Paoli Pentecostal Church where he served as an usher and board member.


Don was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lee and May Franklin; one step-daughter, Lorena Marie Kirk; one brother, Lee Franklin; and one sister, Louise Franklin.


His surviving family includes his wife of 43 years, Donna, of the home; their children, Dawn Louise Nasreldin, Danialle Lee Franklin, Joshua Paul Franklin and wife, Christina, David Otis Pettit, III and wife, Helen, Lawrence Alan Pettit and wife, Faith, James Eugene Pettit, and Patrick John Pettit and wife, Denise, and a special daughter, Corrynn Breidinger, and a special brother-in-law, Joe Nafziger, as well as many grand and great grandchildren, and one sister, Betty Routt.


A time of visitation and fellowship with the family and viewing will be Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Paoli Pentecostal Church from 4PM until 7PM.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Paoli Pentecostal Church officiated by Bishop Terry Erwin and Pastor Daimon Hillhouse. Interment will be private at another time at the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
