David Murrell Derrick passed away Feb. 26, 2017, at the age of 65 years in Ada.
He was born Dec. 24, 1951, in Stringtown to his parents, John Burton Sr. and Rosemary (Perkins) Derrick.
David attended Coalgate Schools. He was an auto mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved working on cars and watching mechanic shows on TV.
He is survived by two brothers, John Burton Derrick Jr. and Carter Brooks Derrick; one sister: Mary Ann Shores and husband, Johnny; and one nephew, Johnathan Derrick, all of Ada.
David was preceded in death by his parents, John Burton Sr. and Rosemary (Perkins) Derrick.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coalgate Cemetery, with Jeff Roebuck officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate.
