McAlester, Oklahoma - Charity Rose (Luman) Chastain, age 44, a McAlester resident. She was born on June 30, 1976, to Larry Duane and Loretta Rose (Martin) Luman, at McAlester, OK. Charity was the first of four children. She was a bright falling star, beautiful and too quickly gone. Charity was swept away into her Savior's arms on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at McAlester, OK. She attended & graduated from Atoka High School in 1995. Charity was a housewife.

She married Larry Michael Chastain on April 20, 1998, at the Day Spring Church in Atoka, OK. They spent 22 wonderful years together. Charity was a Sister, Mother, Noni, Wife, and beloved Daughter. She loved being a Noni, taking care of animals, and was an avid reader. Her heart was one of the strongest forces in the world. She never met a stray that didn't find a home, even if only temporarily; cats, dogs, opossums, and people. Many of those closest to her were strays when they came through the door and family before they left. She was shy about seeking friendships but those that found her found her fiercely loyal and true. "Some of our greatest moments were with friends who became family and family who were the most faithful friends."

Charity is survived by husband: Larry Michael Chastain of McAlester, OK. Daughters: Haili Michelle Luman & P.J. Cottrell of Atoka, OK., Autumn Rose Chastain of McAlester, OK., Son: Cameron Chastain of McAlester, OK., Parents: Larry Duane & Loretta Rose (Martin) Luman of Atoka, OK., Grandchildren: Ella Rose Scott of Williams, AZ., Jasper Creed Cottrell of Atoka, OK., Lincoln Ryatt Cottrell of Atoka, OK., Sister: Heather Rohatgi & husband Roger of Richmond, TX., Nephews: Jordan Ryver Rohatgi & Skyler Reign Rohatgi, Brother: Jeremiah Luman & wife Jissica of Stringtown, OK

Nephew: Jett Luman, Brother: Jason Luman of Atoka, OK

Along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & many dear friends

Charity is preceded in death by, Maternal Grandmother: Kay Jones

Maternal Grandfather: Lon Martin, Paternal Grandparents: Hershall & Georgia Luman

Funeral Services were 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, with Larry Luman officiating. Interment was in the Riley Family Cemetery.
