Billie Ruth Barger, a beloved educator and devoted servant to her community, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing.

Born with an unwavering spirit of generosity to William and Ruth Auten in Ada, Oklahoma, Billie Ruth dedicated her entire life to uplifting others through teaching and selfless service. A passionate educator, she touched countless lives with her patience, wisdom, and genuine care, inspiring students and colleagues alike to pursue knowledge and kindness. Her commitment to helping those around her extended far beyond the classroom; she lived a life defined by giving-whether through mentoring, volunteering, or simply being a steady source of support for family and friends.

Billie Ruth is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law; her three adored grandchildren, who brought her immense joy; her younger sister, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond; and her niece and her family, who were always extremely close to her heart. She loved going to Ada, to see the boys and their mom. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her family and friends were immense because of the love that she brought to the world.

Though her physical presence is gone, Billie Ruth's impact endures in the hearts she nurtured and the lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the light she brought to the world.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Rest in peace, Billie Ruth-your devotion to others will never be forgotten.
