Betty  Thompson
Services for Betty Geanee Bullington Thompson, 85, of Ada will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Brian Matthews will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thompson died Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at a local hospital.
She was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Mountain View to Joseph Byron and Gladys Marie Arthur Bullington. She attended school at Mountain View, graduated from Carnegie High School in 1952 and attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha.
She married C.A. Thompson on July 3, 1953. He preceded her in death March 11, 2007.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and an avid painter and attended the First United Methodist Church, where she attended the Fellowship Sunday school class and was a member of the Talmidim Bible Study class.
She worked for Pool Mortgage Co. at Chickasha for 6½ years, was a member of the The Gladiolus Garden Club of Chickasha for 30 years and served as president for six years. She also was president of the Ada Council of Garden Clubs for five years and a member of the The Magic Brush and Guild since 1983.
Betty won many awards at flower shows hosted by the Ada Council of Garden Clubs and many awards at art shows and the county fair.
Survivors include her son, Richard Thompson and wife, Mamie, of Ada, and six grandchildren, Alicia Daniel, Adam Daniel, Andrew Daniel, Amanda Daniel, Adeline Daniel and Roxane Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five uncles and two cousins.
