Ada, OK - Services for Betty Geraldine (Eberle) Parrett, 91, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Southwest Church of Christ, Brian Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at the Eberle Family Cemetery near Sasakwa, OK.
Mrs. Parrett passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Ada Baptist Village. She was born November 29, 1934 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Otto Theodore and Ethel Mae Brown Eberle. Her grandmothers, Clemmie Brown and Addie Eberle were attending midwives. Betty started school at Rocky Point Elementary School, attending 3 years. She then attended Culley Elementary School (west of Sasakwa) through 8th grade. Her high school education was at Sasakwa High School where she was valedictorian of her graduating class in 1952.
Betty's college education began at East Central State College in Ada, OK. She then completed college at Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College in Stillwater, OK, receiving a B.S. degree in Vocational Home Economics in 1956. Graduate work to receive certification in Science Education was continued from 1973-1975 at the University of Tulsa.
Betty taught Vocational Home Economics at Dewey High School in Dewey, OK from 1956 - 1961. She taught Vocational Home Economics, then later High School Science at Caney Valley Public Schools in Ramona, OK from 1962 until retiring in 1997. Betty was a public-school teacher for 40 years.
Betty and Edward Parrett were married in 1961 at her parents' home in Sasakwa, OK. They established their first home in Bartlesville, OK, then moved to Ramona, OK when she started teaching in the Ramona Public School System. They had one son, Edward E. Parrett, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ethel Eberle; her husband, Ed; her son, Edward Jr.; and sister, Barbara Moon.
She was a devoted member of the Ramona Church of Christ in Ramona, OK for many years and is presently a member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, OK. She was also a member of several professional education groups, including a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Retired Educators and the Washington County Retired Educators' Association. She is also a member of the Pontotoc County Retired Educators' Association.
Survivors include two brothers, Claude Eberle of Knoxville, TN and Ted Eberle and wife Carolyn of Konawa, OK; two sisters, Ramona Scott and Laveda Head of Ada, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
