Centrahoma, Oklahoma - Betty Jean (Cross) Massey, a Centrahoma resident, passed away Feb. 17, 2019, at the age of 88 years in Tulsa.

She was born March 26, 1930 in Tupelo to Edgar and Stella (Sweat) Cross.

Betty attended Lone Oak School and graduated in 1947 from Tupelo High School. She later attended ECU.

She married Roy Leon Massey on June 2, 1949, at Ada. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1984.

Betty worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Savanna and for many years at the sewing plant, Rippel Industries, in Eufaula. She retired in 1988 but continued working the family farm.

Betty was affiliated with Lighthouse Christian Church of Eufaula and Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal, Centrahoma.

he enjoyed her church, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by three daughters, Marsh Gibbany of Tulsa, Patti Massey of Tulsa and Rhonda Smith and Ronald Chisholm of Centrahoma; one sister, Bobby Norfleet of Centrahoma; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Raylon Norfleet of Centrahoma.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Roger Massey and Larry Massey; a grandson, Billy Massey; a brother, JR. Cross; a nephew, David Norfleet; and a brother-in-law, Leon Norfleet.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate, with Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will follow at Byrd's Prairie Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
