Stephen John Dylan Cheatwood was born Oct. 25, 1991, in Clear Lake, Texas. He passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at his home in Oklahoma City at the age of 25.
Dylan attended Edmond and Okemah Public Schools and graduated from Okemah High School in 2010. He later graduated with a bachelor's degree in cartography from East Central University in 2014. He was employed as a LiDAR specialist at CEC in Oklahoma City.
Dylan was a lover of all things in life, including his family, friends, work, guitars, guns and his newest sidekick, Emmy.
Dylan was preceded in death by his older brother, Brandon Whitten.
He is survived by his parents Steven Dale Cheatwood of Okemah, Jeanna DeAnn Chambers-Whitten of Oklahoma City and Reggie and Rachelle Whitten of Oklahoma City, as well as his siblings Crysten Cheatwood, Hannah Whitten, Kristin and Reilly Jo Pettigrew, and Jonathan Gofton. He also leaves his grandparents, Johnny and Jeanne Chambers of Oklahoma City and Joe Edgar and Candace Cheatwood of Okemah. Dylan also leaves behind a plethora of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A tribute to Dylan's life will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Okemah High School Panther Dome in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.
