Services for Opal Mae Walker, 76, of Ada are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Jerry Parnacher and Sandy Harjo will officiate. Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel, west of Stratford. A Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Walker passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at her home. She was born May 16, 1940, in Byars to Sebern and Nora Smith Gibson. She attended Goodland School at Muskogee and Byars School.
She married Herman Walker Sept. 17, 1963, in Ada. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of Dixon Chapel Church.
Survivors include her husband, Herman of the home; a daughter, Debbie Carnes and her husband, Gerald of Ada; a son, Thurman Dewayne Walker of Ada; six grandchildren, Michael Carnes and Gabriel, Daniel, Jared, Jalena and Mahyla Walker; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Carnes, Jadyce Burns, Sari Walker, Irie Walker and Aubrey Walker; and two sisters, Zella Gaines and her husband, William, of Ada and LaVern Walker and her husband, Gary, of Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Nancy Coltz, Ida Stick, Judith Wallace, Rozella Gibson and Joyce Gibson; and two brothers, Ezra Wallace and Joe Wallace.
Bearers will be Michael Carnes, Daniel Walker, Gabriel Walker, Jared Walker, Jeremy Wallace and Jason Wallace. Honorary bearers will be her nephews, Christian Williams, Tom Gaines, Wendell Gaines, Gary Walker Jr., Merle Stick Jr., and brothers-in-law, Virgil Walker and Gary Walker Sr.
