Memorial services for Leota Mae McDaniel, 90, of Atwood are pending.
Mrs. McDaniel passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at a Holdenville hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Seminole to Dick and Zelma Phillips Dveney. She and her family moved to the Stonewall area in 1940. She attended school in Hardin City. She graduated from Ada High School.
She married James Walter McDaniel in 1938 in Durant. He preceded her in death. Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker and affiliated with Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Darryl Hester, Jack Hester and his wife, Nancy, and Rick Hester and his wife, Becky; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Dveney and his wife, Linda; and a sister, Linda Farris and her husband, Mark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James McDaniel; her parents; and three sisters, Betty Bush, Wanda Newland and Nancy Pendergraft.
