Joshua Brandon Sanford, 33, of Norman, was born March 6, 1983, in Ardmore to Charles Randolph and Glenda (Smith) Sanford. He passed away Jan. 10, 2017, in Oklahoma City.
He grew up in Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School in 2001.
Joshua graduated from East Central University in Ada in 2005 and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2009 with a doctorate in pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada and Norman Regional Hospital. Josh was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting, bow fishing and hog hunting. He had a passion for basketball and liked playing fantasy football with his friends. Josh spent many hours hunting and fishing with his Dad. He also liked collecting things, such as coins, G.I. Joes and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Sanford; his grandmother, Jewell Smith; and his uncle, Glen Dale Smith.
He is survived by his father, Charles Sanford and his wife, Kathy, of Indiahoma; his mother, Glenda Price and her husband, Dewayne, of Asher; his grandfather, Glen Smith of Sulphur; his grandmother, Ramona Sanford of Sulphur; three stepbrothers, Dakota Price of Perris, California, Jon Downs of Atlanta, Georgia, Joel Stover of Portland, Oregon; and his stepsister, Kellyn Price of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Sulphur. The Rev. Tim Kowalski will officiate.
