Lester James (John) Braddock, 88, of Stonewall passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
He was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Fitzhugh to Luther and Dora Cozad Braddock. He attended Latta High School west of Ada. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1950-1951 during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, he met and married his wife of 63 years. He spent his life living and working in Pontotoc County. He worked as a rancher and in oil services.
He is survived by his wife, Francis Snell Braddock of the home; a sister, Dorthy Eager of Roff; a daughter, Wanda Thomson of Merritt Island, Florida; and a son, Kenneth Braddock of Midwest City. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; a son, David Braddock of Stonewall; and a grandson, Bobby Thomson of Merritt Island, Florida.
