Services for Jack Russell Bunyard, 62, of Ada are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada. The Rev. Brian Matthews will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff.
Mr. Bunyard passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 20, 1954, in Ada to Fred and Oleta Bunyard. Jack was a lifelong resident of Ada. He graduated from Byng High School where he was active in speech and drama. He went on to attend East Central University in Ada where he was a member of the Oklahomans and the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
He married his wife Carol July 30, 1976, and together they had two children; Amber and Russell. Jack's career as a sales and finance professional in the auto industry spanned more than four decades. Throughout those years, he became a mentor and friend to many who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; a son, Russell Bunyard and his wife, Jennifer, of Ada; his daughter, Amber Carey and her husband, Nicholas Carey, of Ada; five beloved grandchildren, Caden, Olivia and Liam Carey and Vincent and Victoria Bunyard; a brother, Steve Bunyard and his wife, Taffi, of Ada; two nephews, Jeremy Bunyard and Allan Bunyard and his wife, Samantha; a niece, Megan Bunyard; other relatives and family; and his beloved pet and companion until the end, Boomer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Oleta Bunyard.
Bearers will be Byron Snyder, Scott Robinson, Mike Braley, Ric Towers, Christian Jackson and Douglas Kelly. Honorary bearers are close friends who Jack had the honor of working with throughout his career in the auto industry.
