Mr. George S. Anderson passed from this life Nov. 11, 2016, in Dallas with family gathered around him, at the age of 82 years.
George was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Chattanooga, OK, to his parents Elmer and Alma (Hudson) Anderson.
George lived in Waurika and worked for Cotton Electric as a high-line electrician for many years before moving to Tecumseh to serve as superintendent of the city's electric department.
While in Waurika, he served as mayor and also on the city council. George was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Jaycees.
Surviving George includes a daughter, Carolyn Anderson and friend, Sara Sprecher, of Dallas; a son, David Anderson and wife, Jamie, of Ada; a sister, Aurora McKown of Velma; a granddaughter, Kelsey Anderson, who was the apple of his eye; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding George in death include his parents, Elmer and Alma Anderson, grandmother Maud McKee; his beloved wife of 60 years, Frankie Ann Moore Anderson; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Anderson; two brothers, Donald and Billy Anderson; and two sisters, Maxine Hurst and Irene Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Don Sayer officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga Cemetery, south of Lawton.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Senior Sunday School Class (Don Sayre).
