Gene and Patricia's Story

Services for Ronald Gene, 76, and Patricia Carolyn Myers, 75, formerly of Ada will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ada First Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Mick Shaw will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Patricia passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Gene passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Oklahoma City.
Patricia was born June 27, 1941, in Ada to Jefferson Franklin and Alma Marie Burns Herring. She was reared by her uncle and aunt, Earvin and Flossie Burns McDaniel. Gene was born Oct. 23, 1940, in Ada to Charles Heber and Annie Ethel Lawson Myers. They married Jan. 16, 1959, in Ada and were members of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Patricia attended Ada and Latta Schools. She was a talented writer of poetry and spent much of her life taking care of the home and family. Gene graduated from Latta. He was a high school basketball official and retired from Ideal Cement and Weatherford Oil and Gas.
They are survived by their sons, Michael Gene Myers and his wife, Kandy, of Yukon and Ronald Dean Myers and his wife, Irene, of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Gerrod Myers of Euless, Texas, Tanner Myers of Midwest City, Olivia Myers of Fort Worth and Hope Myers of Houston; Patricia's brother, Charles Herring and his wife, Sammie, of Edmond; Patricia's sisters, Jean Kroth of Purcell and Judy Todd of Ada; Gene's sister, Velma Wood of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Gene's brother, Stanley Myers and his wife, Joann, of Ada; and a host of well-loved nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon and Lloyd Myers; his sister-in-law, Shirley Myers; and his brother-in-law, Clifford Wood.
Bearers will be Kyle Ritter, Cole Todd, Mark Todd, Chad Knight, Gerrod Myers and Tanner Myers.
