Memorial services for Frank Dennis Nichols, 80, of Ada are at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Fred Greening and Ray Quiett will officiate.
Mr. Nichols died Friday, May 12, 2017, at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1937 in Ada to Benjamin Frank and Ruby Lee Easterling Nichols and raised by his mother and stepfather, Ray T. McGee II.
He married Leota Bernice McGregor on Aug. 7, 1959, in Ada. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from East Central University and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1958. Mr. Nichols retired as a counselor coordinator with the Oklahoma Department of Education.
Survivors include his wife, Leota, of the home; one daughter, Danita Nichols Metzer and husband, Timothy, of Springer; one sister, Nancy Lee Jarman and husband, Lonnie, of Edmond; three grandchildren, Ellea Peters, Reza Ranjbarian and Maliya Metzger; one great-grandson, Mason James; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Nichols; mother, Ruby McGee; stepfather, Ray T. McGee II; and a brother, Ray T. McGee III.
