Services for Estaline L. Waters, 101, of Gaar Corner will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett. John Henry Lippard and Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waters died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her home. She was born Nov. 17, 1915, to Henry and Myrtle Standridge Little in Gaar Corner. She graduated from Vanoss schools and earned her bachelor's degree from East Central University. She earned her master's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Waters taught school at Vanoss, Byng, Midwest City, Enid and Ardmore during her 28-year career. She was a member of the Vanoss Home Community and Education Club and volunteered with the Pontotoc County Election Board and Pontotoc County Livestock Show and County Fair. Mrs. Waters was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett.
Mrs. Waters and Henry L. Waters were married Aug. 8, 1937. He preceded her in death June 5, 2009, in Ada.
Survivors include her son, Joe Waters and his wife, Oma, of Gaar Corner; her daughter, Ann Stevenson and her husband, Thomas, of Gaar Corner; her grandchildren, Dixie Morris, Christi Holman and her husband, Fred, Renee Waters and Richard Wintory, Susan Black and George Leubscher, Mike Ingle and Chris Fellows, Bradley Stevenson, Timothy Stevenson and his wife, Lori, Thomas Stevenson and Blanca Aguirre; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Bob Nessel, Regie Rowe, Ronnie Mackey, Fred Holman, Rowdy Holman and Stephen Calvert.
