Dr. Leo's Story
Services for Dr. Leopold Joseph Sollazzo, 76, of Ada are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Billy Lewis will officiate. Entombment will be at Swan Hill Mausoleum. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Dr. Sollazzo passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1940, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to Salvatore and Catherine Zelino Sollazzo. He attended school in New Brunswick and graduated from Rutgers University. He received his doctorate of dentistry from the University of Maryland.
He married Antoinette Naneng on Dec. 14, 1968. He and his family moved to Ada in 1978 from Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Sollazzo was a dentist for the U.S. Public Health Service until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Antoinette, of the home; a son, Walter Sam Sollazzo and wife, Brittany, of Allen; a daughter, Sharon Lee Sollazzo of Ada; his grandchildren, Austin Sollazzo, Ashtyn Sollazzo, Regan Sollazzo, Bryson Sollazzo, Morgan Sollazzo and Damon Sollazzo; a nephew, Michael Sollazzo and wife, Carol, of Delaware; and a niece, Katherine Jenson and husband, Greg, of San Francisco.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Anthony Sollazzo.
