Charles LeRoy Mize Sr. of Stratford was born July 4, 1951, to Albert Raymond and Betty (Oliver) Mize in Poteau. He passed away at Ada on March 9, 2017, at the age of 65 years, eight months and five days.
He served our country in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
He lived in the Oklahoma City area and the Hennessey and Maysville areas before moving to Stratford 13 years ago.
He was married to Letha Thompson on Aug. 29, 2013, in Ada. He made his living driving a truck and was a member of the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Albert; two grandsons, Domm Garrett III and Charles LeRoy Mize II "Chucky"; nd two great-grandsons, Joshua Allen and Marcus Lee Garrett.
Survived by his wife, Letha Mize, of the home; one son, Charles LeRoy "Speedy" Mize Jr. and wife, B.J., Dibble; two stepsons, Lesslie Stanford, Norman, and Cameron Stanford, of the home; four daughters, Deann Sparks and husband, Scott, Talahena, and Ammy Wood, Maysville, Rosa Dudgeon and husband, Jacob, Lindsey, and Misty Dudgeon and husband, Chris, Fort Cobb; two sisters, Louise Clements and husband, Steve, Hennessey, and Margaret Aycox, Enid; 19 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and two on the way.
Services took place Monday at Free Will Baptist Church, Stratford,with the Rev. Lewis Perry officiating. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery, Lindsey.
Pallbearers: David Lewis, Bradley Lewis, Jim Henson "Jimbo," Terry Hills, Marvin Stewart "Beer Can," Coby Henson, David O'Neill and Gregory Burton. Honorary pallbearers: Sons-in-law and grandsons.
