Beatrice "Bea" Woods, 94, passed away Dec. 21, 2016, in Coalgate. She was born July 3, 1922, in Oconee to her parents, Luther and Anna (McIntire) Crum.
Bea attended first grade at Wilson School, then attended Clarita schools and graduated in May 1941. She married Harvey Royce Woods Feb. 1, 1942, in the Wilson community. He preceded her in death March 7, 1980. Harvey also grew up in the Wilson community. The couple spent their entire married life on the family farm within four miles of where each was born, except for two years while living in California. She was a housewife, farmed, baled hay and fed cattle. She worked as a home provider for the elderly for more than 10 years. She loved to do gardening, working outside on the farm and driving a tractor. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo, belonged to the Wilson Home Extension Club since 1953, the RSVP Program and worked on the board for several years. She loved helping with the Clarita Senior Citizen group and helped serve meals.
She is survived by three daughters, June Taylor of Ada, Ann and Charles Hill of Tupelo and Becky and Don Morgan of Clarita; a son, Royce Woods of Tupelo; a sister, Edna (Crum) Lee of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild; and a host of dearly loved family and friends.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Gertie Williams, Stella Belle Griffin, Ava Loveta Crawford and Lara Mildrene Crum; two brothers, John Frank Crum and Jerry O'Dell Crum, and two children, Phillis Ann Woods, James Edward Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Brown's Funeral Service-Chapel in Coalgate. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Clarita. No family night is being held.
