Clovis F. "Mac" McKee, 91, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, in Ada. Mac was born July 20, 1924, in Lindsay to Otis McKee and Sallie (Witt) McKee.
Mac grew up and attended school in Lindsay. In the early 1960s he moved to Ada. Mac has been a longtime real estate owner and broker at McKee Real Estate and has served as president of the Ada Board of Realtors many times throughout his career.
Mac served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy. He served in WWII, one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Navy in January of 1969 and began his career in real estate. Mac was a career veteran with more than 27 years of service to his country.
Outside activities Mac enjoyed included farming with his John Deer tractors, tending to his black Angus cattle, helping out at the FFA auctions, providing basketball shoes to the children of Ada and supporting his beloved OKC Thunder team. Mac was a true giver and lover of people.
He is survived by a daughter, Patti McKee of Port St. Joe, Florida; two grandsons, Tim Denson of Oklahoma City and Craig Galbreath of Mobile, Alabama; a sister, Alma Box of Lindsay; dear special friends, business partners and associates of more than 35 years, Sharon and Eldon Sutton of Ada; and a host of longtime friends, neighbors and business associates.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickey McKee; a son, Michael McKee; a granddaughter, Tandie Denson; and his sister, Margaret Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morris Memorial Church in Latta. Pastor David Fensler will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.
