Wanda Mae Sanders passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, in Allen.
She was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Calvin to Albert Stanton Holman and Zedda Beatrice (Renfrow) Holman. She attended Calvin Public Schools and later earned her GED while living in Fort Worth.
She was a secretary for the 180th Division Infantry of the National Guard through the Green Thumb program. She married Jarel Sanders on Dec. 8, 1955, in Ada. She worked for 20 years in Arlington, Texas. After returning to Oklahoma, she worked for the Green Thumb in Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Jimmy Holman, Alford Holman and Johnny Holman; and her sister Betty Wheeler.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jarel, of the home, children Albert Bailey and wife, Pamela, of Royce City, Texas, James Bailey and wife, Vannie, of Allen, and Rebecca Lee and husband, Wayne, of Coalgate; grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Jeb, Andrea, Stephanie, Cassy, LeRhonda, Parker, Brian and Kevin; great-grandchildren James, Chris, Matthew, Kailey, Addison, Alex, Lilly, Callie, Lace, Karter, Ava, Payton, Aiden and Jules; her sister Thelma Davidson of Sand Springs; her brother Carl Holman and wife, Betty, of Arlington, Texas; her best friend, LaFaye McCarter; a sister-in-law, Geraldean Holman; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Allen. The Revs. Aaron Finney, Troy Byrd and Chad Kaminski officiated the service.
Pallbearers were Patrick Gregory, Michael Bailey, Jeb Bailey, Derek Bills, Theron Jessop, Brian Lee, Kevin Lee, James Gregory, Christopher Gregory, Matthew Gregory and Parker Lee. Interment followed at the Allen Cemetery in Allen.
