It is with great sorrow that the family of Terry James announces his passing on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the age of 77 years.
A memorial service, followed by a celebration of life, will be held on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church McKinney, 2000 W. White Ave, McKinney, TX 75069.
Terry was born in Durant to Glover Marion ("GM") and Bonnie James on Oct. 20, 1940. He graduated from Ada High School in 1958. He went on to earn a degree in biology from East Central State College.
He worked as a medical sales representative for many years in Kansas City, Kansas; Tulsa; and Houston. He founded the company Advanced Techno-Med and moved to McKinney, Texas.
After retirement, he was an active member at First Presbyterian Church McKinney. Terry was a passionate gardener who could grow anything. He enjoyed tennis, reading and cooking for friends and family. He was beloved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Terry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; his daughter, Terri Stephan and her husband, Allen Stephan; his son, Brian James and his wife, Patricia; his grandchildren, Meagan and Jake Stephan, Elizabeth, Katherine and Allison James; his brother, Richard James; his cousin, Mickey McKnight; and many lifelong friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, GM and Bonnie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Terry James may be made to the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (Carcinoid.kindful.com) or to the National Forest Foundation (www.nationalforests.org/donate/give-the-gift-of-trees).
