Services for Stanley Clark Lillard, 80, of Ada are at 2 p.m. Monday at Southwest Church of Christ. Floyd Kaiser and Danny Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Stanley passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1937, at Oakman to Lester Lee and Pauline Eppler Lillard. He attended Oakman grade school and graduated from Byng High School in 1955.
Stanley went to work for the Oklahoma Highway Dept. as a surveyor until 1960. In 1960, he joined the Army Corp of Engineers in Alaska on the Fort Richardson Army Base. He surveyed for the Alaskan Pipeline and surveyed and ran transits for roads, runways and airstrips to remote Valdez, Alaska, from April 1961 to May 1966.
He returned to Ada and opened Lillard Furniture Store, which he operated until his retirement in 2004.
He married Glenda Hudson Ward March 27, 1975, in Ada. After retiring, Stanley spent the rest of his working years on his ranch. He loved big game hunting and fishing. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, was a member of the Cattleman's Association and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda of the home; a son, Jeff Lillard and his wife, Nicole, of Ada; a step-son, Keith Ward and his wife, Teresa, of Independence, Missouri; six grandchildren, Natasha Segura and her husband, José, of Princeton, Texas, Skylar and Dain Ward of Independence and Drew, Jake and Sam Lillard, of Ada; a great-grandson, Josh Segura, of Princeton; a sister, Mary Barrett and her husband, Bill, of Ada; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Lillard, of Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Keith Ward, Richard Barrett, Bob Lillard, Jeff Lillard, Brett Barrett and Bob Sweet.
