GARDNERVILLE, Nev. Memorial services for Ronald Merritt Morris, 75, of Gardnerville, Nevada, and formerly of Ada were held Saturday, Oct. 1, in Carson Valley, Nevada.
Mr. Morris passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Carson City, Nevada.
He was born March 19, 1941, in Ada to Harry E. and Loreta Townsend Morris. Ronald attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1959. He received a bachelor of science degree in math and physics from East Central University in 1962.
He married Barry Daggs in Ada. They were married for 20 years and had six children, Dana, Ron Merritt Jr., Patrick, Andrew, Jamila (Mila) and Kelilah (Keli); and seven grandchildren, Michelle, Amber, Autumn, Madison, Lillian, Selah and Maceo.
He later married Grace Morris. They were married for 30 years. He had two stepchildren, Zoi and Nick, and three step-grandchildren, Evangelina, Marina and Demetrios.
Also surviving are his brother, Larry Morris and his wife, Margaret; a niece, Stacey; a nephew, Scott; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Morris worked for the Department of Defense in St. Louis for over 31 years and retired in 1994. After his retirement, he and his second wife, Grace, moved to Gardnerville. He enjoyed the mountains and scenery and loved to spoil his three dogs. He also enjoyed friendly poker games with his buddies in Nevada.
