Services for Richard Dean Metcalf, 86, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Ada are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James D. Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Metcalf passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at an Oklahoma City hospice. He was born April 9, 1931, in Emporia, Kansas, to Roy and Nora Pattison Metcalf. He attended Kansas schools and moved to Ada as a youth with his family.
He married Wanda Charlene Stone Aug. 15, 1977. She preceded him in death April 17, 2004. Mr. Metcalf was the owner of an auto salvage business until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1947 to 1964.
Survivors include four sons, Jody Turner and his wife, Debbie, of Madill, Jim Turner of Byng, Charles Turner of Kingston and Billy Turner of Ardmore; three daughters, Lisa Winter and her husband, David, of Jones, Lori Metcalf and her husband, Doug, of Oklahoma City and Lisa Pryor of Ada; a brother, Raleigh Metcalf of Mustang; 10 grandchildren, Chris Turner, Carris Crowe, Cody Turner, Britny Walkup, Jessie Turner, Nicole Winter, Cameron Smith, Caleb Smith, Shalene Metcalf and Glen Metcalf; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Richard Metcalf Jr.; a sister, Marion Lister; and a brother, George Metcalf.
