Opal Fae Masters, 93, of Abilene, Texas, and formerly of Lueders, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 12, 2018, at Spring Creek Cemetery, Avoca, Texas.
Opal was born March 15, 1924 in Archer County, Texas, the daughter of the late Austin B. and Effie (Ownby) Ham. She graduated from Lueders High School in 1941. Opal married Elmer E.M. "Chick" Masters on Aug. 12, 1943, in Anson, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1998.
Opal worked for the Abilene State School and retired in 1985. She moved to Abilene from Lueders in 1989.
Opal was a member of the Methodist Church.
Preceding Opal in death were her parents; her husband; two daughters, Gloria Jean Masters Lau and Judy Karon Master Jordan; one brother, Orville Ham; and an infant sister, Nora Ham.
Loving family left to cherish the life and memory of Opal are granddaughters, Lisa and Scott Herold of Abilene, Gina McEachran and fiancé, Rick Woodson, of Stephenville, Texas, Lori and Lloyd Gage of Ada; great-grandchildren, Karon Herold and fiancé, Jason Henderson, of Abilene, Jordan Herold of Abilene, Landon McEachran of Stephenville and Gigi McEachran of Stephenville, Addison, Anderson and Ace Allen and Grayson Gage, all of Ada; son-in-law, Bob Jordan and wife, Carolyn, of Abilene; four brothers, Don Ham of Norwalk, California, Jerry and wife Gay Ham of Fort Stockton, Texas, John Ham of Bloomington, California, Larry Ham and Carol of Twin Peaks, California; one sister, Velma Davis of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
