Longtime resident Norma Joe Hobson passed away Jan. 10, 2018, in Sulphur at the age of 83 years.
Norma was born Oct. 24, 1934, in Stratford to her parents, Bill and Johnnie (Williams) Griffiths.
Norma worked and retired from Brockway Glass as a packer. She and Lonnie Hobson married in 1991 in Arizona.
Norma loved going to the lake in April and October. Fishing was one of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed being known for her fried pies.
Norma was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly.
Although Norma is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind, which include her husband, Lonnie Hobson, of the home; two sons, David Beebe of Ada and Lonnie Hobson of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Boogie Evans, Debra Jones of Ada, Darla Edwards of New Jersey and Connie Murphy of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Lafevers and Belinda Doffin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of longtime friends and neighbors.
Norma was preceded in death by the father of her children, Charles Beebe, in 1990; two sisters, Ema Musun and Mary Lou Sims; and one brother, HB Griffiths.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tom Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Swanhill Cemetery.
