Mildred's Story

Services for Mildred Lee Young Staggs Brinkley, 75, of Seminole and formerly of Ada are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Jim Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada.
Mrs. Brinkley passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at a Norman hospital. She was born May 29, 1941, in Seminole to Harvey and Fannie Estep Young. She attended Seminole schools and graduated from Seminole High School.
She married Junior Staggs in 1961. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1997. She later married Mitchell Doyle "Doc" Brinkley. He preceded her in death Oct. 14, 2010.
Mrs. Brinkley was employed with Wall's Department Store and later for Ada Iron and Metal. She was a 50-year member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Becky Feller and her husband, Rick, of White Oak, Texas; a stepson, Aubrey Staggs of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Josh Feller and Brian Feller; a sister, Evelyn McGirk and husband, Robin, of Denison, Texas; a brother, Harvey Young Jr. and his wife, Alpha, of Seminole; three nieces; five nephews; and a special cat, Katy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two brothers, John and Joe Young; and a sister, Etta House McNutt.
