Lucretia's Story

Lucretia Sailors Sherrer, 91, passed from this life Jan. 15, 2018, in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Antlers. Much of her life was spent in Ada, where she raised her family. In 1999 she moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where she resided until the death of her husband.
Lucretia was a graduate of Antlers High School and Oklahoma State University. As a young adult, she actively supported her children by leading Cub Scout and Campfire Girls groups. Later, she volunteered at Valley View Hospital in Ada.
Lucretia Sherrer is survived by a son, Joe Sherrer and wife, Liz, of Moore; a daughter, Susan Allen and husband, Geoff, of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett L. Sherrer of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Ada; father, Lemuel T. Sailors of Antlers; mother, Catherine Louise Rosenbaum Sailors of Antlers; and a sister, Barbara Smith of Oklahoma City.
A family graveside service will be held Friday in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
