Larry Dennis Rutledge, 76, of Norman passed away Oct. 23, 2017, in Ada surrounded by loved ones.
He was born July 12, 1941, in Seagraves, Texas, to Luman (Slim) and Agnes Soward Rutledge. He attended school in Ada, graduating from Ada High School in 1959. He attended East Central University until enlisting in the United States Navy, where he traveled the world. While in the Navy, Larry acquired a love for computers, making his career as a computer systems engineer. He was employed by RCA, AMOCO and BP, where he retired in 1995.
Larry and his wife, Phyllis, lived in Alabama, Texas and Tennessee, returning to Oklahoma for retirement.
Larry is survived by a brother, Joe Rutledge; a stepsister, Glenda Turner; grandchildren, Kaylee Thorp and Dylan Hodges; and loved ones who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, and stepdaughter, Teresa Hodges. He will be laid to rest next to them and his mother in Maxwell Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday.
