Lanora's Story

Lanora Ruth Roberson, 79, was born in Wynnewood to Arthur Clifton and Lillie Ruth (Ezell) Ingram. She married Harold Wayne "Tex" Roberson Oct. 31, 1955, in Ada. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1987.
She grew up in the Sulphur and Oak Grove area, where she attended school before graduating from Hickory High School. She was a talented artist and pianist. Lanora played the piano on Sundays for church and for nursing homes in Sulphur and Stratford. She was a loving mother and Mimi. Lanora attended Oak Grove Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three infant brothers; an infant sister; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Elaine Edwards.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Kaye Edwards and her husband, Dr. Benny Edwards, of Ada; her son, Darrell Lynn Roberson and his wife, Georgia, of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Stacy Hendrickson and her husband, John, Dr. Trey Edwards and his wife, Lindsey, Kyle Roberson and his wife, Jessi, Clayton Edwards and his wife, Jennifer, and Kayli Texanna Diamond and her husband, Grant; and four great-grandchildren, Drew, Bryce and Finn Edwards and Rory Diamond.
Bearers will be Trey Edwards, Kyle Roberson, Clayton Edwards, John Hendrickson and Grant Diamond.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Church. Services will be officiated by the Revs. David Gray and Rusty Fuller. Burial will follow at Dolberg Cemetery.
