Services for John Carroll Embry, 79, of Ada, are at 10 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Henry Lippard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Embry passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, in Ada. He was born Oct. 24, 1937, in the Maxwell Community northwest of Ada to Webb Wallace and Johnie Fay Brecheen Embry. He attended schools at Maxwell, Galey and Asher.
He married Linda Sue Brinlee June 27, 1959, in Dustin. He was a self-employed contractor and carpenter. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and attended Gaar Corner Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; two daughters, Holly Sue Romines and her husband, Roger, of Campbell, Texas, and Melinda Lynn Grider and her husband, Kenny, of Durant; a son, John Carroll Embry Jr. and his wife, Joy, of Galey; seven grandchildren, Lucas and Brett Romines, Coty Embry, Chris Bus, Randall McDaniel and Rachel and Mary Grider; four great-grandsons, Austin and Eli Bus, Kandyn Romines and Tristan McDaniel; his brothers, Jerry and Jack Embry, both of Colorado; and two sisters, Margaret Frankovich of Tecumseh and Betty Jones of Ada.
