James Phillip "Pete" Presley of Ada passed away Nov. 12, 2017, at the age of 84. Pete was born July 7, 1933, in Tishomingo to Harold Jack and Nora Beatrice (Nichols) Presley.
Pete was a longtime active member and former deacon of Trinity Baptist Church.
On Sept. 26, 1951, he married Lahoma Sally Parker in Ada. He owned and operated Presley Plumbing for several years and later retired from Valley View Hospital with 24 years of employment.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lahoma Sally Presley, of the home; three sons, Jack Presley of Kingston, James H. Presley and wife, Janice, of Byng, and Joe Brent Presley and wife, Mary Jane, of Mead; eight grandchildren, Kelly Presley, Michael Presley, Justin Presley, Traci Haddock, Jarrod Presley, Zachary Presley, Phillip Presley and Jeni Hackett; 12 great-grandchildren, Marcus, Josh, Brittany, Parker, Faith, Breanna, Andrew, Ethan, Emma, Hayden, Edison and Jude; five great-great-grandchildren, Leightyn, Hadley and Lane't, Sailor Belle and Michael Drayton; two sisters, Louise Southerland of Roff and Janet McWhorter and husband, Harold, of Ada; two sisters-in law, Emma Presley of Ada and LaRuth Meeks of Byng; and a host of nieces, nephews, longtime friends, neighbors, coworkers and precious church family.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Aubry "AJ" Presley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church, with Dr. Rusty Fuller and the Revs. David Gray and Don Sayre officiating. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.
Bearers will be grandsons Kelly Presley, Justin Presley, Jarrod Presley, Zachary Presley and Phillip Presley and nephew Kevin Meeks.
