Ima Christine Guthrie

Ima Christine Guthrie was born Sept. 1, 1930, and went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Feb. 12, 2019. She was buried next to her father and sister Alamo on March 1.
She was born to Jesse Charles (JC) and Vera White in Holdenville. She had four siblings: Wilson, Anita, Eugene and Alamo. Most of her youth was spent living in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas before they moved to Coffee's ranch in Modesto, California.
She married Orville Ray Polk on Aug. 6, 1950, and they had a little girl named Charlotte Kay. Ray died while serving in the U.S. Navy on Feb. 12, 1953.
She then met and fell in love with Woodrow (Woody) Guthrie. They lived many years in Long Beach before his passing. Woody was a Korean war veteran.
We will miss Aunt Chris very much. She is survived by four nieces and nephews: Eugene and Charlene of Modesto, California; Brenda of Ada; and Jesse of San Diego.
