Frances Ann Halstead, age 88, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, July 25, 2017, while surrounded by much of her family.
Mrs. Halstead was born July 26, 1928, on Sheep Creek in southern Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Julia (Barringer) Smith. She was born one of eight children and was a twin.
She graduated from high school and received an associate degree in nursing. The great joys of her life were her family, dear friends and her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a Godly woman saved in 1953 and served the Lord every day of her life.
Frances was a beautiful, loving mother who radiated joy. She touched the lives of many people through her life as a minister. She leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love of family and of God. She will be deeply missed.
Frances leaves behind her beloved family, a son, Rip Lance and wife, Kelly, of Durant; a daughter, Sandra Sanders and husband, Ray Loyd, of Ada; five grandchildren, Ashdon Lance and wife, Bailey, Gary Ray Jr. and wife, Tracy, Angela Bradshaw and husband, Alan, Stacey Sibley and Shannon Sanders; nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers and her husband, Ernest Halstead.
Frances was laid to rest Thursday, July 27, at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas.
