After a brief battle with Lymphoma, Effie Marie Stewart, 73, returned home to her Heavenly Father Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, surrounded by family and friends at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Her devotion to family and her firm belief in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior supported her in her struggles and ultimately gave her peace.
Effie was born April 29, 1943, in Calvin to the late Tom and Beatrice Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Beatrice Elliot; her brother, Clifford Elliott; and her sister, Ellen Mantooth.
She attended and graduated from Calvin Public School in 1961.

Effie was a gentle soul who found the time for anyone in need, a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. She was truly a woman of faith who loved Christian music and the Lord. She had a love for singing and was gifted with the ability to play the piano. She found solace in singing beautiful lyrics, evidence of her faith in Jesus. She loved attending church. Effie grew up in a large family and loved family reunions. She loved needlepoint, making beaded jewelry, cooking and was a very proud mother.
